KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in parts of Perak, Pahang, and Sabah until 12pm today.
MetMalaysia identified the affected areas in Perak as Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim.
The warning also covers Cameron Highlands in Pahang, as well as Tawau, Kunak, and Semporna in Sabah.

In a statement, warnings are issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20mm per hour that are expected to last for more than an hour.
"Thunderstorm warnings are short-term alerts valid for a period not exceeding six hours from the time of issuance," it said. - NST
