KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will activate Interpol red notices and work with the Immigration Department to restrict the movement of three individuals who failed to appear for questioning, including two sons of the late Tun Daim Zainuddin.
The MACC said Muhammed Amir Zainuddin Daim and Muhammed Amin Zainuddin Daim had failed to appear at its headquarters despite three successive attendance orders dated Feb 13, March 11, and April 6, 2026.
The commission said their lawyers had previously committed to ensuring their attendance on April 6, but the two failed to appear without reasonable excuse.
Also failing to appear without satisfactory explanation was a third individual identified only as Josephine Premla.
"Any failure to comply with the lawful orders of this agency will not be tolerated, and enforcement action will be carried out without exception," the MACC said in a statement today.
The MACC said that a fourth individual, Asnida Abdul Daim, had cooperated and appeared as directed, while a fifth, Md Wira Dani Daim, had given prior notice of his absence.
The commission said it would pursue two immediate enforcement measures against those who failed to comply — activating Interpol red notices and collaborating with the Immigration Department to restrict and monitor their travel movements and passport status.
The three individuals also face legal action under Section 48(c) of the MACC Act 2009 for failing to comply with attendance orders issued under Section 30(1)(a) of the same Act.
Separately, the MACC confirms that Asnida will be charged under Section 36(2) of the MACC Act 2009 at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow. - NST
