BENTONG: A dashcam video showing a motorcyclist riding against the flow of traffic on the Genting Highlands descent and grazing an oncoming car has sparked outrage among netizens.
The 20-second clip, which has been widely shared on X, captures the rider heading uphill in a designated one-way downward lane.
In the footage, the motorcycle is seen clipping a white sedan traveling in the correct direction, forcing the car to brake sharply while the rider wobbles significantly from the impact.
Social media users are urging the authorities to use the clear dashcam evidence to identify and prosecute the rider for endangering multiple lives.
Riding against the flow of traffic is a serious offense under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act for reckless and dangerous driving.
The New Straits Times has reached out to Bentong police for comment regarding the status of the investigation and whether any arrests have been made. - NST
