PETALING JAYA: Police have confirmed that a suspect who allegedly sexually groomed teenage girls he targeted through his charity work has been arrested.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat confirmed his arrest when contacted Monday (Nov 12).
"I can confirm that the police made the arrest at his house," he said.
Earlier, a victim's father told The Star that police arrested the man at about 1am on Monday.
Three reports have been lodged against the man so far, with more victims expected to come forward.
The 36-year-old man had allegedly been sexually grooming underaged girls he met via charity groups and churches he volunteered at.
More than 15 women have stepped forward to recount their encounters with the man since his messages with girls as young as 14 were exposed on social media.
Kembara Kitchen founder William Cheah, who first revealed the incident, said victims were traumatised from the man's stalking, harassment and invitations for sex.- Star
