Delegates at the Malay Chambers of Commerce Malaysia's (DPMM) extraordinary general meeting held in Petaling Jaya today has decided to oust its president Rizal Faris Mohideen Abdul Kadir.
The motion for a no-confidence vote against Rizal was brought by the chambers deputy president Syed Hussein Alhabshee and saw 89 out of 92 delegates present voting in support of it.
Auditor Nurul Aina Zulkifli from Azman Ahmad and Co audit firm announced that the remaining three delegates had voted against.
The decision reached in the EGM, which began at 10.30am, takes effect immediately.
Following this, Syed Hussein announced that he would take on the role as acting DPMM president.
Rizal, who was elected as the president in May last year, was not present at the EGM.
