Huge crowd welcomes Musa as judgment on Sabah CM looms

KOTA KINABALU: Former chief minister Musa Aman arrived home at Sabah today, two months after leaving the state to seek further medical treatment in the peninsula.
The Sungai Sibuga assemblyman was welcomed by some 1,000 people who had gathered at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport as early as 11am in a show of support and solidarity with the embattled leader.
Among those who came were assemblymen and MPs from Gabungan Bersatu Sabah (GBS).
Musa, who was appointed as an adviser to GBS along with former Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Joseph Pairin Kitingan, arrived at Kota Kinabalu shortly before 1pm.
A supporter from Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) said he learned of Musa’s arrival through social media and had come early to ensure he could enter the airport.
“Lucky for me, because the parking lot is now full. I heard outside the police are already blocking entrance to the airport,” he added.
Supporters from the GBS parties were seen taking photos together and talking about the much anticipated court result on Musa’s suit against the head of state.
“Constitutionally speaking, Musa wins hands down. But we are concerned about some unseen hands trying to interfere in the judiciary system,” one said.

“I just hope the judge will not be easily swayed or threatened.”
Another supporter who only gave his name as Jo said he was unfazed by the threat by a Facebook user named Desmond Yongkor who said Warisan would mobilise its supporters and run riot in the city if Musa is declared the rightful chief minister.
Jo said he believed the Facebook user was only a cybertrooper and keyboard warrior, and that he believed Warisan’s supporters were politically mature enough to accept any decision by the court.
According to a GBS source, Musa will hold a meeting with GBS leaders at his house in Luyang before heading to the High Court for the judgment.
If the case is declared in his favour, he may go to the state administration building to chair the Cabinet meeting today pending an audience with the head of state.
