Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's wife Rosmah Mansor has left the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya after having her statement recorded for about three hours.
Her lawyer K Kumaraendran said Rosmah had been ordered by the anti-graft investigators to present herself at the Kuala Lumpur court at 3pm tomorrow.
Speaking to reporters this afternoon, Kumaraendran, however, declined to say what Rosmah was questioned about and if she would be charged over alleged corruption involving a government solar hybrid project in Sarawak.
"MACC has finished recording her statement, and she has gone back at 2.35pm.
"She was asked to go to the Kuala Lumpur court at 3pm tomorrow," he said, before telling reporters to wait for the court proceeding to know the nature of the case.
Sources say Rosmah's statement was recorded by MACC today as part of its investigations of a solar hybrid project for schools in Sarawak rural.
Malaysiakini was also informed by these sources that Rosmah would be jointly charged with her former aide Rizal Mansor, whom MACC had previously remanded to facilitate the investigation.
This comes more than a month after Rosmah was slapped with 17 counts of money laundering charges involving RM7 million deposited into her personal bank account.
Malaysiakini revealed in June that the Education Ministry under the previous administration, had awarded the solar hybrid project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak to a Bintulu-based company under "direct orders" from Najib. - Mkini
