Mat Sabu tells off PH supporters who make fun of unwell BN leaders

PETALING JAYA: Amanah president Mohamad Sabu has spoken out against social media users who ridicule Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders who have taken ill in the wake of corruption charges brought against them.

“This behaviour does not reflect our maturity in politics or our culture as Malaysians

“We should be praying for them for a speedy recovery, not belittling them,” Mohamad, who is also the defence minister, said in a statement.

Some social media users had commented on pictures showing former leaders being treated.

They include former Felda chairman Isa Samad, former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman and former Tabung Haji chairman Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.

All three are facing charges of corruption and bribery.

Some pro-government supporters have accused them of faking their illnesses to gain sympathy and avoid prosecution.

Mohamad, or Mat Sabu, said the ruling coalition was consistent in fighting graft, adding that it would allow the legal process to run its course. -FMT
