NO BAIL? THEN IT’S STRAIGHTAWAY JAIL FOR NAJIB & ROSMAH: SO RICH, YET DUO GRIPE ABOUT THE ‘MILLIONS’ THEY HAVE TO SPEND FOR THEIR FREEDOM – AIDE SAYS ‘SO FAR BOTH HAVE RM12.6 MILLION

A FORMER aide to Najib Razak today slammed the “excessive” bail amount imposed on Rosmah Mansor in her corruption case in relation to a solar project for Sarawak schools.
Isham Jalil said the RM1 million bail is too much, and that Najib and his wife have already spent RM12.6 million on bail in previous criminal cases.
“If there are more charges, she will be charged a million or more, and this will never end.
“How many more millions must Rosmah and Najib pay for bail? So far, both have spent RM12.6 million.”
“They have paid millions in bail, so the court should have considered imposing on her the minimum amount. One million or two million is unreasonable.”
Earlier today, Rosmah claimed trial at the Kuala Lumpur sessions court to two counts of corruption in relation to the solar project.
Judge Azman Ahmad set bail at RM1 million and allowed Rosmah to pay in instalments – RM500,000 today and the rest in a week’s time.
December 10 was set for case mention.
For the first charge, Rosmah is accused of soliciting RM187.5 million in gratification from Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Saidi Abang Samsudin to assist in approving the project in 369 rural schools in Sarawak, valued at RM1.25 billion, through direct negotiations with the Education Ministry.
The offence was allegedly committed between March and April 2016 at a cafe in Sunway Putra Mall in Kuala Lumpur.
For the second charge, she is accused of accepting RM1.5 million from Saidi Abang on September 7 last year to help the company acquire the said project.
Both charges are under Section 16(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act. If found guilty, Rosmah could be jailed up to 20 years and fined not less than five times the value of gratification for each charge.
She was represented by K. Kumaraendran and Geethan Ram Vincent.
Today was Rosmah’s second court appearance. She was previously charged with 17 counts of money laundering and tax evasion.
