PETALING JAYA: She was driving home after a long day at work but for nurse Nur Syuhada, duty calls when she saw a motorcyclist involved in an accident.
The nurse stopped her car to help and comfort the victim – despite having just completed a late shift.
Her act of kindness near Danga Bay in Johor Baru on Sunday morning did not go unnoticed.
Someone shared pictures of her helping the motorcyclist and the images went viral immediately.
.An online portal put up a posting, saying: “According to sources, this kind-hearted nurse tried to calm the victim and if she had not been helping direct traffic, something worse could befall the victim.”
The heart-warming story did not escape the attention of Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim.
“I’d like to congratulate nurse Nur Syuhada from Sultanah Aminah Hospital for setting a good example. This is an example of pure-hearted heroes, always ready to serve even though it is outside their working hours,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
The Johor Health Department also praised the nurse, saying “syabas” to her.
“You have made Malaysians proud and moved by your sense of responsibility, no matter where you are.
“You gave a helping hand not for monetary gain but for your sense of duty as a nurse of the Malaysian government,” it said.- Star
