PARIT: Malay rights group Perkasa today urged police to investigate veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin and construction tycoon Koon Yew Yin for sedition, alleging that they had insulted the royalty.
Perak Perkasa information chief Mohd Safian Sauri Pandak Abd Samad claimed that Kadir and Koon had insulted the royalty in their respective blogs and this could incite the people to hate the monarchy in Malaysia.
He also claimed that a blog post by Kadir, who is also a PPBM supreme council member, showed he was biased against the royalty and it could instigate the people to insult the royal institution in the country and call for it to be abolished.
“Meanwhile, Koon has made serious allegations that the late Perak Sultan Azlan Shah had bestowed state titles and awards through ‘corrupt practices’,” he said.
He said Koon had also alleged that the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, had a hand in his sacking as a Perak Economic Advisory Council member.
“We are very angry with those who questioned the integrity, credibility and dignity of our sultans,” he said after lodging police reports against Kadir and Koon today. - FMT
