
A group of student activists marched some 8km to the Parliament building in Kuala Lumpur to protest the government's recent decision regarding the National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN).
The 10, some dressed in graduation gowns and mortarboards, gathered at Universiti Malaya before proceeding to Parliament at about 11am. It took them an hour to reach their destination.
The activists were protesting the move to implement a scheduled pay cut of between two percent and 15 percent of the monthly income of PTPTN loanees earning more than RM1,000 a month.
Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng had unveiled this plan when tabling the Budget 2019 in the Dewan Rakyat on Nov 2.
