The driver of a four-wheel drive vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident in Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan, last Sunday, was charged at the Magistrate’s court in Petaling Jaya today with murder.
Unemployed Wilsonresa anak Dudom, 22, nodded in understanding when the charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code was read to him before Magistrate Mohd Nor Hafidzuddin Yusoff.
However, no plea was recorded.
According to the charge sheet, the man was charged with causing the death of a restaurant worker, Wong Sow Lin, 57, in front of a restaurant in Jalan Equine 9B, Seri Kembangan, near here, at 8.20 pm on Nov 18.
The court did not allow him bail and set Jan 8 for remention.
It was reported that a woman was killed, while four other individuals sustained injuries, after the vehicle ploughed into roadside diners at a restaurant in Taman Equine on the said date.
The vehicle also crashed into three other vehicles before fleeing the scene. The man was arrested at 1.43am the following day.
Deputy public prosecutor Alia Sumayyah Amran prosecuted, while the unemployed man was not represented.
