CORONAVIRUS | Frontliners will be distributing face masks purchased by the government to each Malaysian home soon.
Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said each home will get four masks. The exercise will involve 24.62 million masks.
He said the masks are currently being sent from the National Security Council to local district disaster management centres.
"(From there) it will be distributed from house to house by frontliners," he said.
He added that for Sabah and Sarawak, the airforce will be sending over masks on Friday.
Ismail reiterated the Health Ministry's advice that only those with symptoms need to wear masks.
Earlier, the senior minister announced that 454 were arrested yesterday for violating the movement control order (MCO).
Since the MCO started, a total of 6,905 people had been detained.
Meanwhile, 630 individuals were charged in court yesterday for violating the order. - Mkini
