Heads to roll in 3 key government agencies?

Nageeb Wahab, Zakri Khir and Bakke Salleh
PETALING JAYA: A change of guard in key government agencies may be in the pipeline, according to reliable sources.
FMT has learnt that they include Nageeb Wahab, Bakke Salleh and Zakri Khir, who respectively chair plantation and agro-industries powerhouses Felcra and Felda, as well as Socso, the government’s compulsory work insurance scheme.
FMT is unable to independently verify the claim.
Nageeb was appointed to head Felcra in October 2018, following the resignation of Umno’s Bung Moktar Radin. He has 40 years of experience in the agriculture, rubber and palm oil industries, and has served in various senior posts at Sime Darby Plantation Bhd.
Bakke, the former chairman of 1MDB who criticised the Barisan Nasional government’s management of the sovereign firm, was appointed to helm Felda in June last year.
Recently, he was reportedly asked to vacate his chairmanship of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board.
Zakri took over from Aseh Che Mat as Socso chairman in October 2018. He has three decades of experience in insurance and portfolio management.
FMT is trying to reach the trio for comment.
Meanwhile, another source told FMT that many more heads of key government agencies could roll in the weeks to come.
“Some of them were to be replaced even during Tun’s time,” said one source, referring to former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. -Mkini
