Police will not probe former federal territories minister Khalid Samad over the bribery allegations linked to his ex-political secretary Azli Yusuf.
Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) chief Mohd Zakaria Ahmad confirmed that the Shah Alam MP was not involved in the matter.
"The case has nothing to do with the related (former) minister.
"So there's no reason for the police to call him," he told Malaysiakini.
Khalid's name surfaced after the police arrested Azli on May 16.
Subsequently, Khalid (above) tweeted that the arrest was made based on a complaint from an architecture firm that allegedly received a fake development order (DO) from a "broker."
He claimed the broker used Azli's name to imply it can obtain a DO for the architecture firm.
Prior to that, a media portal reported that the former minister would be one of the individuals summoned by the police.
On May 27, Khalid told the media that according to Azli, his name was never mentioned in the probe, while expressing hope to resolve the matter.
Meanwhile, Mohd Zakaria said the investigation on the matter is still ongoing. - Mkini
