PORT DICKSON: Efforts are underway to put out a blaze at the Hengyuan refinery along Jalan Pantai here.
Eyewitnesses believe the fire was likely caused by a lightning strike.
A column of thick smoke could be seen from a distance after a structure which resembles a storage tank caught fire.
Eyewitnesses said lightning could be the cause as the resort town was experiencing a thunderstorm when the blaze started.
Fire engines from several fire stations rushed to the scene to put out the blaze.
The refinery was previously owned by the Shell Refining Company. - Star
