Foreigners who have overstayed in the country since Jan 1 this year until 14 days after the end of the movement control order (MCO) are allowed to leave Malaysia without being blacklisted or issued a compound.
This was announced by the Immigration Department in a statement this evening.
It added that pass facilitation for foreigners whose passes expired on Feb 1 this year can be done at any immigration office within 30 working days from the end of the MCO period.
For the record, the MCO, which was enforced since March 18, is expected to be in effect until May 12 with the possibility of it being extended.
The department also said that all appointments for immigration counter services, except for the visa, pass, permit division and expatriate division have to be done through an online system beginning May 8.
No appointments are needed for transactions at the Security and Passport Division.
Immigration counter services at all Urban Transformation Centres (UTC) will only be operational after the end of the MCO period, it said. - Mkini
