MyCEB launches digital education platform to revitalise business events industry

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Nancy Shukri has congratulated MyCEB for bringing in IAPCO webEDGE to the country to revive the business events industry.
PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has launched an online education platform in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to invigorate Malaysia’s business events industry.
The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers’ (IAPCO) webEDGE platform gives professionals access to a 14-course congress project management package, presented by industry experts with the aid of actual case studies.
MyCEB CEO Abdul Khani Daud said the impact and slowdown from the Covid-19 pandemic allowed for those in business tourism to not only plan for the future but also to develop and learn to come back stronger.
“Learning and development never stops. In an industry that is primarily about international business, it is therefore crucial to continuously speak on a global level. This is where we see webEDGE playing its role.
“We believe this will elevate the professionalism of professional congress organisers (PCOs) and the supply chains in Malaysia for the business events industry,” he said in a statement today.
MyCEB CEO Abdul Khani Daud.
Khani said the digital learning platform enabled professionals to learn at their own time, with those completing the course eligible to earn completion certificates and social media badges.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Nancy Shukri congratulated MyCEB for bringing in IAPCO webEDGE to the country to revive the business events industry.
“As we are moving towards a new norm, we look forward for PCOs to learn and explore through online platforms such as IAPCO webEDGE,” she said.
webEDGE went live today and is free of charge for all IAPCO members.
Non-members will have to pay an access fee of about RM655 (€140) for the entire course, while Malaysians will be given a special 50% discount.
