CORONAVIRUS | A Covid-19 cluster at a factory in Pedas, Negeri Sembilan involved 60 individuals, with 440 more tests results pending.
Of the 60, 52 are cases detected over the 24-hour period ending noon today.
According to Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, 53 of the cases involved foreigners. Only one patient from this cluster has recovered so far.
He said that the index patient was a factory staff who developed symptoms on April 5 but was only confirmed as a Covid-19 case on April 12.
As of noon today, 786 factory staff and friends of the index patient have been tested.
The source of infection was still under investigation.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said the Pusat Bandar Utara and Kuala Lumpur wholesale market area, which are under the enhanced movement control order (MCO) saw three new cases over the 24-hour period ending noon today.
The total number of cases from this area stood at 192, of which 118 involved foreigners.
Noor Hisham said between April 3 and today, there were 339 Malaysians returning from abroad who were Covid-19 positive.
