PKR Youth vice-chief challenges Azmin Ali to seek re-election

Malaysiakini

PKR Youth vice-chief Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman has challenged Azmin Ali to vacate his parliamentary and state assembly seats.
Labelling the former PKR deputy president as a traitor, Syed Badli (above) said Azmin must return the mandate to the people and prove that the people still accept him - through re-election.
"I challenge Azmin to vacate his Gombak parliamentary seat as well as his Bukit Antarabangsa state assembly seat. Return the mandate to the people.
"He has to prove to the people that his treacherous actions against PKR were accepted by the people by going back for an election," Syed Badli said in a statement.
He added that the Azmin, who is now international trade and industry minister, has to learn to obtain the people's mandate in an honourable way.
"Not through the back door," he said.
Syed Badli reminded Azmin not to act "holier than thou" (berlagak suci) by accusing other people as crazy for power when his own reputation was tarnished due to his treacherous act against Pakatan Harapan.
Speaking in Kedah yesterday, Azmin advised politicians against dragging the nation into another political crisis, in response to the speculation that Harapan has enough number of lawmakers on its side.
"We should not be dragged into another political crisis and made victims, just because someone is crazy for power and wants to be prime minister," Azmin said.
Harapan's demise was set in motion after Azmin and his allies quit PKR. Subsequently, Muhyiddin withdrew Bersatu from the coalition.
Muhyiddin, who was sworn in as prime minister on March 2, formed the Perikatan Nasional alliance with BN, PAS and others. The alliance is also backed by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS). - Mkini
