PN has slim majority, can easily fall if wrongdoings exposed - Dr M

Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the Perikatan Nasional government has a slim majority in the Parliament and some of the MPs may switch if the opposition can expose the ruling coalition's wrongdoings.

Speaking at a special press conference today, the Bersatu chairperson said this was the reason why they (opposition) wanted to move the vote of no-confidence against Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

"The matter of the majority is not something that is unchangeable. This is the first time that we have a government that only has a very slim majority.

"If two or three of them switch from a party to another, from the government to the opposition, then this government would fall. It's not like before, where the government had a two-thirds majority. Now only a few.

"So, we believe that if we can expose the wrongdoings of the government, good sense will prevail and there would be some from the government side who will support the motion," he said.
