Here is some quite earth shattering news about the US security umbrella over Saudi Arabia. They are folding the umbrella and going home.

redeployment of Patriots now under way, not previously disclosed

US reducing US Navy presence in the Gulf

relationship between US and Saudi strained as oil price crashed

military hardware deployed last September
My comments :
This is not a full withdrawal. After the Houthi missile attack against the Abqayq oil facility last September the US sent over extra Patriot missile batteries and fighter planes to defend Saudi airspace.
Those extra missiles and jetfighters are now being removed from Saudi Arabia.
The missiles and jetfighters did not help because subsequent to September 2019 the Houthi missile attacks have continued, almost unhindered. Including an attack on Riyadh where the Houthis fired several missiles that travelled more than 700 km and hit the Saudi capital.
Then on Feb 14th 2020 the Houthis fired a missile that shot down an advanced Saudi Tornado jet - sending shivers down the spines of the Saudi, US and UK airforces.
Plus the irrational Saudi behaviour in engaging in an oil price war that has led to the crash in oil prices (which has hurt Big Oil in the US and Europe).
As a side note the share prices of ARAMCO dipped below their IPO price of US$32 a share (Dec 2019). In March 2020 the market capitalisation of ARAMCO dipped below the IPO level.
The ARAMCO debacle is evidence of the irrational behaviour of the 35 year old Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman or MBS. The Sauds urgently needed money from the listing of ARAMCO. But soon after the listing (in Dec 2019) the Saudis began their price war that has now crashed oil prices and sent ARAMCO share prices also crashing. Foreign and domestic investors have been left holding pieces of paper.
Plus the US now is an oil exporter. They do not need Saudi oil.
And over 95% of the UK's oil supply comes from the North Sea.
Plus the Iranians have developed formidable missiles that can shoot down American and British jet fighters and drones. And they have long range cruise and ballistic missiles that are difficult to shoot down. Since the US and the Brits are low risk predators it is not surprising at all that they are pulling out of the region. Imagine the worldwide embarrassment if American fighter jets are blown out of the sky - like what happened to that British Tornado jet in February this year.
Trump has famously said that without US security cover the Saudi king would hardly survive for two weeks.
I believe this is beginning to happen.
And if the Saudis do not stop their genocide against Yemen, the Houthis are going to step up their missile attacks against the Saudis.
The entire world will be a better place without the al Saud and their Salafi terrorism.
The sooner they disappear from the surface of the earth, the better for all of mankind.
