Johor Pakatan rejects MB's offer to work together, claims it's insincere

JOHOR BARU: Johor Pakatan Harapan has rejected Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad’s (pic) offer to work together, describing it as an insincere move.
In a joint statement, the state Pakatan noted Hasni’s call for all elected 56 representatives to work with him to take Johor forward.
“If Hasni is really serious in wanting to work with the Opposition to administer the state, he should have at least replied to the messages sent by Johor Opposition chief Aminolhuda Hassan, who, for several times, wanted to discuss public interest issues.
“When Hasni suddenly urged all state political leaders to stop fighting and cooperate in developing the state, we feel it is dishonest as he himself declined to accept our attempts to have discussions since assuming the Mentri Besar’s position, ” said the statement.
The statement is signed by Aminolhuda, who is Johor Parti Amanah Negara chairman, state PKR chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh and state DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong here on Thursday (June 4).
Pakatan claimed that they have openly invited Hasni to meet and discuss state affairs, but the Benut assemblyman never responded to their invitations.
On Wednesday (June 3), the Johor Umno and Barisan Nasional chief said that he required not only cooperation from the state executive councillors, but also from other assemblymen to ensure the state’s economic recovery.
“Let us work together to realise our mission to turn Johor into a new economic powerhouse in the country, ” he said in a statement.
Hasni said that he needed the support of all leaders, both from the government as well as the Opposition, to fulfil Johor’s potential.
He also urged all political leaders in the state to understand and heed Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar’s decree to put the people’s needs first.
“Sultan Ibrahim has warned that he would not hesitate to dissolve the state assembly.
“Is this what we want, since the state government led by Perikatan Nasional has worked so hard to improve the state’s situation?” he asked. - Star
