Maid arrested after CCTV footage shows her kicking, injuring child

 

KLANG: A maid was arrested by the police after CCTV footage showed that she intentionally injured the child of her employer.

"The seven-year-old child had been playing on a sofa and the suspect then kicked him, causing the child to fall to the floor. He suffered injuries to his forehead.

"CCTV cameras in the complainant's house recorded the incident," said North Klang OCPD ACP Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh in a statement on Friday (Dec 4).

The 23-year-old Indonesian suspect had been working there for around two years with a monthly salary of around RM1,200, she added.

She said that the police were notified of the incident on Thursday (Dec 3), adding that the the complainant's mother-in-law had been in the kitchen, while the suspect was with the child in the living room.

"The suspect was arrested on the same day and has been remanded for four days, until Dec 7.

"We are investigating the incident under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001," she said. - Star
