PETALING JAYA: Padang Lalang assemblywomen Chong Eng has been named Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) women’s chief at today’s presidential council meeting.
The DAP leader, who also chairs the party’s women’s wing, has been a member of the state assembly since 2013, before which she was the MP for Bukit Mertajam.
She is also the Penang state executive councillor for women, family development, gender inclusiveness and for non-Muslim affairs.
In a statement released by the PH presidential council, comprising Anwar Ibrahim, Mohamad Sabu and Lim Guan Eng, the council also said the coalitions MPs will be attending a briefing by science, technology and innovation minister Khairy Jamaluddin next Monday on the national immunisation programme.
This would be followed by a meeting to discuss a number of pertinent issues, such as vaccines, the economy and the current state of emergency.
The council also announced plans to meet with foreign dignitaries on Wednesday. - FMT
