PETALING JAYA: Home minister Hamzah Zainudin hinted today that police will probe law minister Takiyuddin Hassan over his comments on the King’s call for Parliament to be reconvened.
Hamzah said police would investigate anyone named in a police report.
“They will investigate anyone. There are no double standards when it comes to such matters,” he told reporters.
On Wednesday, Takiyuddin said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had not set a firm date when he decreed that Parliament should reconvene as soon as possible.
Takiyuddin also said Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had announced that Parliament would sit in September or October.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) Youth subsequently lodged police reports against Takiyuddin.
The King had said Parliament should reconvene as soon as possible to debate the emergency ordinances and the Covid-19 national recovery plan.
