KUALA LUMPUR: More than RM13.6 million (RM13,676,250) was collected yesterday as 287,500 summonses were paid up through the traffic summons discount offer in conjunction with the 100-day Malaysian Family Aspirations programme.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mazlan Lazim said the counters at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) recorded RM431,330 with 8,943 summonses and the MyBayar portal raked in more than RM3 million (RM3,403,001) with 74,312 summonses settled.

“We had to close the counters in KLCC at 4.30pm today but the public need not worry. They can continue to pay their summonses at traffic counters at their district police and police contingent headquarters, as well as via the 24-hour MyBayar portal,” he said after inspecting the counters at KLCC.

The police are offering discounts of up to 80% for summonses from Dec 9 to 12. The offer does not include summons cases mentioned in court, grave offences, and offences of heavy vehicles as well as exhaust modification. - FMT
