Military pension fund Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) said its management has agreed to start negotiations in order to stop the picket by the LTAT Workers Union (KKLTAT) demanding their salary adjustment arrears.
It said the management will meet with representatives from the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs), the Malaysian Trade Union Congress (MTUC) and the KKLTAT for the negotiations.
“LTAT management has expressed its willingness to provide appropriate clarification and carry out discussions with representatives from Cuepacs, MTUC and KKLTAT tomorrow in order to find a solution to this matter,” LTAT said in a statement today.
It noted that LTAT chief executive Nazim Rahman and other senior LTAT leaders met with Cuepacs president Adnan Mat, MTUC president Effendy Abdul Ghani and MTUC secretary-general Kamarul Baharin Mansor during the workers’ picket today.
The picket was temporarily stopped for the meeting to take place, it added.
Over 100 employees picketed outside the LTAT building in Kuala Lumpur starting Monday (July 25), claiming its management refused to pay their salary adjustment arrears for over two years.
The adjustments were made through a revision of the salary scheme, which came into effect on Jan 1, 2020.
At the time, KKLTAT president Zulharith Shahrizzan Kumar Abdullah had said the picket will be held every day until Friday (July 29). - Mkini
