Two-term Parit MP Mohd Nizar Zakaria has been appointed as the non-executive chairperson of Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd (SPNB) with effect from July 15.
Nizar will be replacing Lembah Jaya assemblyperson Haniza Mohamed Talha, who occupied the position since April 2 last year.
Haniza was sacked from PKR in June 2020. She is currently the deputy president of Parti Bangsa Malaysia, which supports Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In a statement, SPNB said the new appointment would help the company achieve greater heights.
SPNB is a housing developer wholly owned by the Minister of Finance (Incorporated).
The company was placed under the purview of the Housing and Local Government Ministry on Aug 3, 2018, when its minister was Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin.
Zuraida is the PBM “president-designate”. - Mkini
