Would-be groom rams ex-fiancee’s car

KOTA KINABALU: A man who crashed his car into a parked car in Sandakan was taken into custody by the police.

In a 30-second video clip that has been making the rounds on social media platforms since last Friday, the suspect is seen repeatedly backing his car into a vehicle, which, as it turned out, is owned by his ex-fiancee.

Sandakan OCDP Asst Comm Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said that the suspect, who is in his 20s, was picked up by police at 11.15pm on Friday, after the owner of the vehicle filed a report about what happened at RNR Fitra Bandar Indah.

“It is believed that the suspect was upset with his girlfriend for calling off their engagement,” he revealed when contacted yesterday.

He said the suspect has been remanded for investigations under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing loss or damage to another individual’s property. - Star
