S Gobi Krishnan said today that his purported removal as Bersatu associate wing's information chief was invalid because it did not follow due process.
Speaking to Malaysiakini, Gobi Krishnan said the wing's leadership was only a pro tem committee and therefore cannot make unilateral decisions on its membership.
"All appointments must be made by the president and the supreme council. It is clear that (Bersatu associate wing chief Chong Fat Full) had overstepped," he said.
However, Gobi Krishnan did not respond to allegations that he was declared bankrupt by the Insolvency Department on Jan 7, 2021.
Chong had announced Gobi Krishnan's removal from all party positions yesterday in view of his insolvent status, which was revealed by Federal Territories MIC deputy chairperson D Pala Kumaran.
Pala Kumaran said Gobi Krishnan's insolvency status made the latter unqualified to helm the Excise Licensing Board of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (ELBKL).
Meanwhile, Gobi Krishnan said Bersatu rules stipulated that only the party's disciplinary board had the authority to take action against party members.
In view of this, Gobi Krishnan said he will file a complaint against Chong with the party secretary-general and disciplinary board. - Mkini
