Cooperate or fight with BN? We're okay with either - PAS No 2

PAS is prepared to face all possibilities in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15) including going solo, said its deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

He said this decision was made because Umno-BN kept insisting they no longer want to continue their cooperation with PAS.

“I see BN making a lot of decisions about going solo, so if BN has made such a decision, we are ready to face all possibilities.

“If we can work together, we can have an alliance. If they want to fight, we can also fight,” he said, as reported by Sinar Harian today.

Tuan Ibrahim (above) added that they are also ready to clash with other parties in the general election.

However, he said PAS will continue to strengthen Perikatan Nasional (PN) leading up to GE15.

“Yes (ready to clash) but as we know, the decision of this party will be taken to the respective leadership councils. For our party, we are moving as PN because PAS is part of PN.

“The most important thing is that the people can benefit from a stable and fair government, that is the focus for the people. We do not want an unstable government because the country’s economy has not fully recovered,” he said.

Tuan Ibrahim made these remarks when he was asked to comment on whether PAS will go solo or not in the upcoming GE.

PAS in Sabah

Meanwhile, commenting on whether his party will field candidates in Sabah, Tuan Ibrahim said the party has submitted several proposed seats it would like to contest.

“As the deputy president, I have not yet received the candidate names who will be proposed for Sabah but I have heard about it. It is common for political parties to submit candidates for recommendation at the state level.

“But on behalf of the party, we will wait until it is official and see how prepared the state PAS chapter is to contest.

“In this general election, there are several seats we suggested for PAS to contest. PAS has been in Sabah for a long time and we find the support to be getting better day by day,” he said.

At the same time, Tuan Ibrahim reiterated that PAS is ready to discuss with any parties interested in cooperating with them. - Mkini
