Covid-19 (Aug 25): 3,206 new cases, 8 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 3,206 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,768,394.

Active cases currently stood at 35,988, down 20.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another eight deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".

Over the past week, an average of 8.7 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 8.4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,185 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

The deaths were reported in Selangor (3), Johor (1), Kelantan (1), Negeri Sembilan (1), Perak (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

There are 1,271 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 69 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (105) followed by Sabah (69) and Johor (50). - Mkini
