SHAH ALAM: With the rain subsiding and water levels rescinding, the situation here is nominal, police says.
"Yes, the situation is normal. Police from the Sri Muda police station have been deployed to their respective sectors since this afternoon to monitor the situation.
"Currently the water has subsided and police surveillance will continue," Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said when contacted.
Heavy rainfall on Saturday (Aug 20) led to some water rising around the Shah Alam area, with the Fire and Rescue department saying that around one foot of water was recorded within the Sri Muda area earlier in the day.
However no flood reports have been lodged.
Videos of water above nominal levels were floated online, sparking fears of a repeat of last year's heavy floods in the Sri Muda area. - Star
