‘Good chance’ for Pahang PN to win more seats, says Saifuddin

 

Pahang PN chairman Saifuddin Abdullah says election teams will be formed in every parliamentary constituency in the state.

KUANTAN: Pahang Perikatan Nasional will form a committee in every parliamentary constituency in the state to coordinate party matters for the 15th general election, said its chairman Saifuddin Abdullah.

He said there was a good chance of the coalition doing well and increasing its share of seats. But the coalition must strengthen the machinery and go to the ground.

Saifuddin said the formation of constituency committees would be finalised at a meeting to be held next month, about a week after the coalition’s national convention on Aug 27.

He said an understanding had been reached at the grassroots level on who to appoint to lead the committees.

“However, the three parties in (Pahang) PN understand that anyone appointed to lead any constituency would not necessarily be picked to contest in that area. The appointment is just to facilitate (party) management,” he said.

Perikatan Nasional comprises Bersatu, PAS, STAR, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and Gerakan. - FMT
