It is all calm outside the Kuala Lumpur court complex today, despite former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s first appearance since his incarceration.
This is a stark difference from the throng of supporters who appeared outside the Palace of Justice on Tuesday, where the apex court dismissed the former premier’s appeal over seven charges linked to RM42 million of funds from SRC International Sdn Bhd.
Today, Najib returned to the High Court for his 1MDB corruption trial involving RM2.28 billion of funds from 1MDB before judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah.
He was later spotted within the court complex clad in a grey suit and tie.
