PETALING JAYA: The wife and daughter of a flight instructor killed in a light aircraft crash in Ipoh on Aug 1 are eligible for the dependents’ benefit of RM3,555 a month from Socso, the Social Security Organisation said today.
Socso said its chief executive officer Azman Aziz Mohammed had visited and handed over the benefits to Hayati Nawi, 50, widow of former air force fighter pilot Fajim Juffa Mohd Mustafa Kamal who died in a crash in Ipoh last week.
A one-off funeral management payment of RM2,000 was also handed over, Bernama reported.
Fajim Juffa, 52, was killed when the aircraft crashed on Jalan Dr Nazrin Shah during a night training flight.
The dependents’ benefit will be channelled to Hayati for life, and to his daughter, Fatini Nadia Qistina, 17, until she is 21 or on completion of her first degree, Socso said.
In last week’s crash, fellow flight instructor Din Fikri, from Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, was injured. - FMT
