Umno leaders today expressed sadness over the Federal Court's decision in upholding the 12-year jail sentence for former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
They also recalled all the contributions he has made.
"I am saddened by this situation. May Allah grant strength to Najib and his family members.
"No matter what has been said, he (Najib) had his contributions," said Umno supreme council member Shamsul Anuar Nasarah in his Facebook post.
Commenting on Shamsul's post, another Umno supreme council member, Md Alwi Che Ahmad, similarly said it is undeniable that Najib had made many contributions to the country.
"Not had, but he has done a lot of good deeds. We highly appreciate that. May Allah gives him strength," said Alwi.
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was earlier seen at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya where a five-member bench led by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat upheld Najib's conviction and sentence in his RM42 million SRC International corruption case.
