Covid-19 (Dec 14): 1,241 new cases, 6 deaths

 

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 1,241 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,013,724.

Active cases currently stood at 17,215, down -29.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another 6 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 1 were declared as "brought in dead".

Over the past week, an average of 6.6 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.7, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,784 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 100 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 209 deaths last month and 101 deaths in October.

There are 1,010 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 67 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (72) followed by Sabah (39) and Perak (34). - Mkini
