Former Umno and PKR politician, Ezam Mohd Noor, has been appointed deputy president of Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM).
Ezam’s (above, left) appointment was decided unanimously by the party’s central committee on Dec 11.
In a statement, the party hoped that Ezam’s experience and leadership will bring the party to greater heights.
PRM has not held a seat in Parliament since 1959 but has regularly participated in every general election since.
Ezam, 55, was formerly an Umno member who gained prominence as a Reformasi activist with PKR.
Eventually, he left PKR and rejoined Umno during the Najib Abdul Razak administration.
In 2016, he left Umno for a second time.
During the Nov 19 elections, Ezam was among PRM’s 16 candidates for Parliament. All PRM candidates lost their deposits. - MMKtT.
