PETALING JAYA: Ismail Sabri Yaakob paid Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim a courtesy call at the latter’s office in Putrajaya today.
The meeting between the two is the first since Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar was sworn in as the 10th prime minister on Nov 24.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said that he appreciated the former prime minister’s visit and they exchanged views on various current issues.
“I also expressed my appreciation for the support and encouragement (he has) given (to me),” added Anwar.
Ismail, who is an Umno vice-president, was appointed the ninth prime minister on Aug 20 last year following the resignation of Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin after 17 months in power.
Ismail served as the prime minister for 14 months. - FMT
