SHAH ALAM: The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) has issued a warning notice to landowners in the Bukit Kerayong area to stop hill-levelling activities and to submit an application for planning permission.
State local government, public transport and new village development committee chairman Ng Sze Han said MPK had found that activities to level the hill had been carried out at eight plots of land there.
“The warning notice was issued under Section 19 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1976. Legal action will be taken against landowners who ignore the notice,” he said.
Ng was replying to a question from Dr Daroyah Alwi (PBM-Sementa) in the Selangor assembly today on the state government’s action on the levelling of three hills, namely Bukit Kerayong, Bukit Kapar and Bukit Cherakah.
Ng said checks by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and the Petaling district land office showed the hill-levelling activity at Bukit Cherakah was in Section U10, Shah Alam.
He said a title had been issued for the land. Approval had also been given for a “layout plan” there on Sept 26, 2017. - FMT
