KUALA LUMPUR: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor's post on Facebook, in response to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's legal action against him, has come under fire and received heavy criticism from the public.

Netizens went on the offensive saying that the 48-year-old MB needs to talk less and concentrate more on his obligations and duties as an elected leader and people's representative.

A Facebook user, Alex Hay, said: "No need talk about history. Talk about facts.

"And what about the issue of you crossing the state border just to view a car during the Covid-19 pandemic when there were travel restrictions in place especially concerning cross border travel?" he wrote.

Another user, VK Thirunama Karasu commented that the Kedah MB should refrain from making too much noise and respect the country's top leader.

"YB Sanusi, please don't be a speaker and make a lot of noise, respect the PM for 5 years and after that you can make a lot of noise in GE16. We are One Malaysia, let us be friends, let us not be enemies," he said.

Another Facebook user known as Clara Ignatius, said she could not understand why must some politicians get into a very public slugging match which sets a very bad example.

"I just don't understand this, what politics is all about, serving the people or serving themselves? Waiting for the day when politicians, when campaigning, will talk about what they're going to do for the people instead of slinging mud at each other," she wrote.

Charlie Koe Hee Chuen received quite a number of likes for how direct and blunt his comment was regarding Sanusi's posting.

"One of the silliest and illogical MB around. He has done nothing good for his state (Kedah) except fighting with Penang over water issues or suing people who criticise him," wrote Charlie.

Another user, Noor Hasnol Osman, chided Sanusi for his conduct in public.

"Sanusi is such an embarrassment to non-senile Kedah citizens. Controversy after controversy are mocked up just to win votes of orang kampungs (villagers). May the court summon serve him right. He is the total opposite in character compared to the professional Pas Terengganu MB (Menteri Besar - Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar).

In his post, Sanusi, 48, who is also Pas' deputy commissioner for the state, said he was ready to face Anwar in court over the defamation suit which had been filed against him.

"I'll see you in court, lah. We'll talk about history," said Sanusi in his Facebook past that was uploaded late last night.

Sanusi stopped short on elaborating further regarding history that he wished to dig up on the PM. - NST
