BN leaders Wee Ka Siong and Wee Jeck Seng paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim earlier today, ahead of Monday’s confidence vote.
The 35-minute meeting which took place at the prime minister’s office in Putrajaya was arranged upon Anwar’s invitation, said Ka Siong.
Taking to Facebook, the MCA president said he took the opportunity to congratulate Anwar on his appointment as prime minister as well as discuss certain issues relating to the people.
“I had raised the issues concerning the Chinese community and exchanged views with (the prime minister) on inflation and cost of living, latest political developments and how to attract foreign investors, especially China, which has a huge potential in our country that will help boost the economy.
“My best wishes to the government in bringing development, stability and recovery to the country in this post-pandemic era,” he said.
It was speculated that both Ka Siong and Jeck Seng were among the 10 BN MPs that had initially supported Perikatan Nasional chief Muhyiddin Yassin to become prime minister.- Mkini
