Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin said the party accepts every Malaysian, regardless of age, race, and background, with open arms.
“We are actually a party that is meant for everyone, especially the younger generation. They are already with us.
“We are for the nation, not one race but every race.
“That’s why we have Gerakan and our associates’ wing. I know we don’t have an Indian group but we are open to welcoming them onboard,” Hamzah said after attending the Bersatu annual general meeting at Menara PGRM in Kuala Lumpur today.
He added that Bersatu is “inclusive, unlike certain parties which are exclusive and cater to the elite”.
The current PN coalition is represented by more than 70 Malay/Muslim MPs from PAS and Bersatu.
Unlike other coalitions like BN and Pakatan Harapan, it does not draw support in terms of elected representatives from a range of communities.
This, alongside with some of its professed ideological platforms, has given rise to accusations that the coalition is playing a divisive role by only catering to the majority. - Mkini
