Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli denied any links to a parcel - suspected to contain cannabis extract - which was addressed to him and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
He said it was a waste to deliver such goods as he did not even receive the shipment.
“It was sent (addressed) to the office, I didn’t open it.
“Neither of us takes weed, so these things are a waste,” he said at a press conference in Parliament today.
It was reported yesterday that the Sepang police confiscated the parcel containing a tube of toothpaste labelled “Happy Green”, with patterns of marijuana leaves in green and white.
The police confiscated the parcel on Friday at a courier company in Pulau Meranti, Sepang, Selangor.
The police discovered that the item was bought through an online shopping platform using an address in Indonesia.
The case is being investigated under Section 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 by the Putrajaya police’s narcotics division.
Section 6 deals with restrictions on the possession of raw opium, coca leaves, poppy straw, and cannabis. - Mkini
