House owner walks into grisly scene of cat carnage

PETALING JAYA: Complaints of a foul stench led a house owner to a grisly scene of cat carnage, with bones, body parts and carcasses of cats in the house, according to an animal rights group.

The Malaysian Animal Association said the house in Cheras was occupied by a 31-year-old Malaysian tenant. Checks on the premises revealed that the condition of the place was “tragic and gruesome,” with carcasses of cats all over the place.

“There were also bodies of animals chopped into pieces, as well as minced flesh in the house. There was a room in the house that was filled with animal carcasses, assumingly of cats, that have decayed,” the group said in a statement.

MAA said a report had been lodged with the veterinary services department after the landlord said police told them they did not have the power to investigate and make arrests in the case.
