The Kedah State Legislative Assembly today approved a motion to appoint Bayu assemblyperson Abd Nasir Idris and Kedah PAS secretary Musoddak Ahmad as senators to represent the state.
The motion to appoint Nasir (above, left) and Musoddak (above, right) was proposed by Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
They will replace Kedah PAS commissioner Ahmad Yahaya and former deputy finance minister Othman Aziz who resigned from the post on Nov 1, 2022.
Kedah state assembly speaker Juhari Bulat, when announcing the matter, said he had received a letter signed by Nasir and Musoddak informing him that they agreed to be appointed to the post.
“In accordance with the Seventh Schedule of the Federal Constitution, the Kedah State Legislative Assembly which convened today agreed to appoint both of them as senators, effective March 20, 2023.
“On behalf of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly, I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Nasir and Musoddak for being appointed as senators who will represent the state,” he said.
Also, Juhari hoped that Nasir and Musoddak will always be in good health so that they could continue to contribute to the development of Malaysia and Kedah.
