Madani framework based on election manifestos - minister

PARLIAMENT | The Malaysia Madani framework will be based on the election promises made by all components of the unity government, the Dewan Rakyat was told.

"The framework was built based on a thematic analysis of the manifesto of all components of the unity government during the cabinet minister's retreat on Jan 15.

"The Malaysia Madani framework is expected to be launched by the prime minister soon," said Sabah and Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions Minister Armizan Mohd Ali.

Armizan (above) said this in a written reply to Mohd Radzi Jidin (PN - Putrajaya) who asked whether Pakatan Harapan and BN's election promises will be fulfilled since they are now in the government together.

Radzi also sought the financial implications for the implementation of the manifestos.

Armizan did not state the cost of "implementing the manifesto". Instead, he spoke about Budget 2023’s cost of RM388.1 billion.

The unity government secretariat recognises Pakatan Harapan, BN, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and Warisan as its founding and main members.

The Malaysia Madani tagline was launched by Anwar on Jan 19 and the secretariat formed a joint "government agenda and political monitoring committee" on Feb 7.

As of now, it is unsure if any of the manifestos used by the coalitions are still valid. - Mkini
